YOUNG family has its earliest origins in Amelia and Prince Edward Counties, VA by 1736. Samuel YOUNG was born abt 1710 and patented land in Amelia Co. He is believed to have been married to Susannah, and they had at least 10 children, most named in Samuel’s 1777 Amelia County will. Descendants scattered after the Revolutionary War. I am most interested in Samuel’s son Stephen YOUNG, who I believe was a Captain in the War and moved to NC. Stephen’s sons mainly went to KY, where James YOUNG and Orena BURKS were living in the 1830s-1840s. They lived around Pendleton and Campbell Counties, KY.
